Featured Volunteer Needs – January 2017

Party in the Park - hands

Rein in Sarcoma totally relies on great volunteers (you!) for our success. Here are some current volunteer opportunities for which we have a special need.

Party in the Park

We have three openings for leadership positions for Party in the Park (PIP) which is happening on July 24, 2017. Leaders will be responsible for pre-event planning and organization and should be present for all three PIP meetings (March, April, June) and the event. See a summary of last year’s event.

Sarcoma Garden of Hope Chair – We need a leader to bring fresh ideas to make this area more impactful. This person should secure a craft or activity for this area, take pictures on attendees’ cell phones of their group in front of the sunflower display, interact with attendees as they visit the garden, etc.

Merchandise Chair – With the help of last year’s chair as a mentor, we are looking for someone to be responsible for pricing items, organizing which items to bring to PIP, and oversee sales at both picnic and party (same date). Chair will help recruit additional volunteers to assist during the event in 2-hour shifts.

Raffle Chair – Raffle ticket sales are an essential part of PIP as a significant amount of money is raised. Our prior co-chairs are available for questions on how to make this successful. This person will be responsible for choosing prizes for the raffle, getting the raffle permit, working with PR committee to create raffle tickets and flyers, and using social media, the other PIP chairs and their personal network to recruit volunteers to sell raffle tickets both at PIP and prior to the event.
