Rein in Sarcoma 2007

Monday evening – July 23, 2007  –  6:00 – 9:00 pm
Cafesjian’s Carousel and Como Park Visitor Center, St. Paul
A magical evening of great music, entertainment and family fun
Stay the night at the Official RIS Hotel!

Rein in Sarcoma 2007 features unlimited carousel rides, the new Tropical Encounter, continuous entertainment including nationally known comedian and sarcoma survivor Scott Burton and seven other acts, a large and unique Silent Auction and children’s activities. Directly preceding the event Rein in Sarcoma 2007 will also feature a free picnic for 300+ sarcoma survivors, patient, loved ones and those who have lost someone to sarcoma. Rein in Sarcoma not only raises funds to benefit Sarcoma Cancer research and physician education it also gives many hope and relief from the isolation of these rare and dangerous cancers. Rein In Sarcoma 2007 includes:

  • Rein in Sarcoma Picnic (4:30 pm - 6:00 pm) at the East Picnic Grounds - A free picnic for sarcoma patients, survivors, loved ones and for those who have lost a loved one to sarcoma. Sponsored for the fourth consecutive year by American Family Insurance. To learn more or to register click here.
  • Continuous Entertainment (6:00 pm - 9:00 pm) including:
    • Scott Burton - Nationally known comedian, juggler, speaker, author and sarcoma survivor
    • Larry McDonough - Jazz Piano
    • Rachel Kroog - "Kidpower with Rachel" is a high energy, interactive, entertaining and educational musical show
    • Men in Black - vocal quartet dedicated to acappela performance of the music of our age.
    • Candy - Pop Music for Real People
    • Illumination - in performance with Candy
    • Dunquin Irish Trio - Traditional music for Flute, Irish whistles and piano
  • Ride on Cafesjian's Carousel - (7:00 pm - 9:00 pm)
  • Rein in Sarcoma Silent Auction - (6:15 - 8:30 pm)
    • Over 200 exotic and wonderful items to bid on in our best ever RIS Silent Auction.

  • Continuous Children's Activities - (6:00 pm - 9:00 pm) including:
    • Face Painting
    • Bubbles
    • Mr Fun
    • Moon Walk
    • Book Walk
  • Tropical Encounters - (6:30 pm - 8:00 pm) - New to RIS in 2007. Take an adventure through a Central and South American rainforest through the eyes of experienced Minnesotan field researchers and hundreds of plants and animals.
  • Sarcoma Corner- (6:00 pm - 9:00 pm)
    • Featuring information about sarcomas, storyboards of sarcoma survivors,
    • RIS Sarcoma banner, and
    • University of Minnesota sarcoma doctors and researchers to answer your questions.
  • SunFlower Shoppes - Featuring Rein in Sarcoma merchandise, "Groovy Girls," Willow Creek Angels, RIS wristbands, RIS stationary and T-Shirts, and new i n2007 the Official Rein In Sarcoma Coffee mug available in 11oz and 15 oz sizes.
