The first RIS Gathering

February 26, 2006

Over fifty sarcoma survivors, patients and those who have lost someone to sarcoma joined together for Rein In Sarcomas's first ever Gathering. This event was an opportunity to meet and learn from others who are facing sarcomas. It was a rare opportunity to both gain and provide support to others.

The Rein in Sarcoma Gathering included entertainment and great food. We also took time to explore together ways that the Fund can increase our support of Sarcoma patients and their families. Among other ideas was the creation of a RIS Sarcoma Survivors Handbook which will be developed over the summer of 2006.

The Gathering was free to sarcoma patients, survivors and their immediate families. It is hoped that a second Gathering can be planned for later this year.
