RIS Announces $121,000 in New Sarcoma Research Grants

RIS invests its money in cancer research At its February 2009 meeting the KWRISF Board approved six new grants totaling $121,000 in new sarcoma funding at the U of M Masonic Cancer center. First RIS Mud Dog Run raises over $3,300!

Through the mud and through the snow our 2009 Mud Dog Rider rode in the first-ever Mud Dogs Ride to the Minnesota United Snowmobilers Association’s (MnUSA) annual Winter Rendezvous at Ruttger's Sugar Lake Lodge, Grand Rapids. Seven intrepid riders rode a combined 1,200+ miles and raised over $3,300 for RIS! This was a combination of a snowmobile ride and a fundraiser for the Rein in Sarcoma Foundation. A very special and wonderful afternoon for sarcoma patients, survivors, their immediate families and those who have lost a loved one to sarcoma was held on Sunday,February 8th at the Roseville Skating Center. Rein in Sarcoma 2008 "Party in the Park" - A Magical Success

Under gorgeous clear skys on July 21st, Rein in Sarcoma 2008, "Party in the Park" was a magical, wonderful spectacular evening for about 800 to 1,000 attendees. Sarcoma survivors, patients, and their supporters from throughout the upper midwest joined together to to find a cure for sarcoma cancers. It was an evening of sharing, fellowship, continuous entertainment, music, children’s activities, silent auction, and of course, the famous Carousel at the Eighth Annual Rein In Sarcoma held at Como Park in St. Paul. Thanks to the 180 volunteers and leaders who made this such a great success!
