Rein in Sarcoma is beginning a new educational initiative that aims to come up with a new protocol that is tested and could be used by health organizations anywhere to educate their doctors about sarcoma. We are adapting a model that has been successful in Sweden in both reducing misdiagnosis and mortality and increase the efficiency and timeliness of treatment.

This initiative is being funded by a major grant that will be announced at our Fall Fundraiser on October 13th. The board, Medical Advisory Board and the Red Flags Committee have been planning this initiative for several months. Regions/Health Partners with the leadership of Dr. Randy Hurley (head of Oncology for Health Partners and member of the RIS Medical Advisory Board) have agreed to host our pilot programs.
