RIS meets Charities Review Council Standards

CRC Meets Standard Seal

We are pleased to announce that Rein in Sarcoma again received the Charity Review Council’s “Meets Standards” seal after submitting extensive documentation for review.

The Charity Review Council reviews nonprofit organizations in four critical areas: Public Disclosure, Governance, Financial Activity, and Fundraising. The review ensures that Rein in Sarcoma’s operations, structure and policies meet widely accepted standards for accountability and transparency. The awarded “Meets Standards” seal shows our commitment to accountable and ethical practices.

Rein in Sarcoma is now listed as a reviewed organization on the Council’s Smart Givers Network and the Smart Giver newsletter distributed to households, businesses and nonprofits. The Charity Review Council seal serves to assure donors that they are supporting an organization that is doing it’s very best to be good stewards of the donations entrusted to us towards our mission:

Dedicated to educating the public and medical community
about sarcomas, supporting sarcoma patients and their loved
ones, and funding research directed toward developing new
treatments and finding a cure for sarcoma cancers.

Achieving the Charities Review Council’s standards was an important task for RIS in 2017. Even though RIS meets the standards, we are using the process to further improve our organization and Board’s accountability, transparency and management. We will need to revisit the review process again in 2020.
