The majority of the proceeds of the Foundation are used to support the Karen Wyckoff Sarcoma Research Fund at the University of Minnesota Medical Foundation. , This Fund is the primary Sarcoma reseacrh fund of the University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center. The Foundation also supports education of the community and physicians about sarcoma cancers with a particular emphasis on lessening misdiagnoses.
With the 2012 grant awards, RIS had funded over $900,000 of sarcoma research grants that has in turn generated over $3 million of sarcoma research at the University of Minnesota. All of this work is possible because of hundreds of committed and generous donors.
