Flamingos Land in Denver

Bella Mastreno with Flamingos in Denver, COFlocks of Flamingos have been sighted landing in yards around Denver, Colorado in support of Rein in Sarcoma and to honor Nick Shifflet.

This unique fundraising idea was the idea of Dawn Mastreno. The flamingos land in a yard and the after enjoying them for a few days the home owners make a donation to RIS to help the flamingos find a new home.

Some donors are even paying an extra “insurance” donation to insure that the Flamingos do not return to their home.

We at RIS have been amused and delighted by this new way to raise money to fight Sarcoma. We understand that a different flock of Flamingos may be landing in Fort Worth, Texas soon. Bella (age three) has been a Flamingo assistant.  We think this makes her our youngest fundraiser. To read Nick’s story, go to the story section, click here.
