The 6th RIS in Sarcoma "Gathering" was held on Sunday afternoon, October 25 in the beauty of the the Clifton E. French Region in Plymouth. This Fall "Gathering" for RIS was a wonderful opportunity to meet and learn from others who are facing sarcomas. It was also a rare opportunity for the forty people who attended to both gain and provide support to others.
The Rein in Sarcoma Gathering VI started at 2:00 pm with live entertainment from Mike Storms. Mike has been a trumpet and fluegelhorn performer and teacher for decades. At the Gathering he featureed popular vocal jazz/big band songs, with a few other favorites/requests along the way. Mike performs and records with the First Light Trio, the Touch of Brass Quintet, and also does solo playing.
This was the time to meet others, enjoy the beautiful scenery sample a fall respite of apple and fall treats including apple pie. RIS Gatherings are a celebration of life and support. The Rein in Sarcoma Gathering VI also included (starting about 2:45 pm) a time of sharing, an update on the work of the Foundation, and copies of the new of RIS Sarcoma Patient Handbook.
