Rein in Sarcoma is very excited to announce that Paul Giel Jr is now Rein in Sarcoma’s first Development Director. He brings to the position, skills, passion, and experience. We expect with our community and Paul’s leadership we will significantly grow the important work of Rein in Sarcoma.
In Paul’s words:
“My name is Paul Giel Jr. and I am honored, humbled and so very excited to be part of the foundation’s family as your Director of Development.
Thirteen years ago I lost my best friend Todd Hendrickson to Leimyosarcoma. I became ingrained in his fight to overcome this terrible rare disease. I saw first-hand the effects this cancer had on Todd, his family and friends. I am passionate and motivated to help the RIS Foundation find a cure for sarcoma cancer.
I’ve heard amazing stories of hope and your tireless efforts in support of RIS so I can’t wait to meet one and all. We are all in this together and with your input and direction we can change the story.
I went to the University of Minnesota in business administration and played baseball. After my time at the University I entered into business in sales where I stayed for over 30 years. Three years ago I was approached by the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation to join their foundation as a development officer charged to build their donor base and donor contributions. I am grateful for all their support.
You may recognize the name and yes, my dad was Paul Giel. I’m a single parent with four kids, Joe, Aly, Paul III and Francee. We all live in the Lake Minnetonka area and have very active lives. I enjoy all sports especially golf, biking, working out and reading. I look forward to meeting you all. Please don’t hesitate to reach out, I won’t bite.”
