The 2019 Party in the Park planning got off to a great start at Surly Brewery, Co. on March 18. Many attendees enjoyed social time with a tour of brewery prior to the official Kickoff. Even those supporters who could not attend in person were able to watch the live stream of the Kickoff on the Rein in Sarcoma Facebook page.
Amy Hoban and Allison Mulcahy, our Event Co-chairs, ‘kicked off’ the official Party in the Park planning. Each member of the Party Leadership team shared the activities of their sub-committees, which include Logistics, Picnic, Registration, Merchandise, Raffle, Auction, Marketing, Volunteer Coordination, Luminaries, Concessions, Ring Toss and Garden of Hope. To highlight a few areas:
Jason Patalonis returns as the Auction Manager. He offered several opportunities to work together on solicitation of auction items and encouraged us all to consider our networks and possibilities for items. Each item you donate or solicit benefits RIS’s mission research, education, and patient support. We would especially like to get family-friendly experiences for the auction. Please use the gift-in-kind form with all donated items. Contact Jason if you are interested in helping with the auction.
Sarina Morrison and Allan Swartz will be heading up the RIS Raffle. Prizes for 2019 include a Montana Big Sky Condo, $1,000 cash and a Drone. Help us fund the RIS mission by selling raffle tickets. Tickets will be available at the All Hands Meeting in June. We will also have raffle tickets at the RIS office; call 763-205-1467 or contact Sarina.
Valeria Lopez, our talented graphic designer will unveil the 2019 Party in the Park poster design at the June 5th All Hands meeting. Come to the meeting and help distribute posters throughout the Twin Cities. It takes a community to produce the Party in the Park.
