Yes, the snow is melting, and once again our focus turns to silent auction efforts. As in years past, we will send invitations to all previous donors from 2018 and 2019. But we still need your help to identify and source new, interesting and fun items for 2020. We need items for both the summer and fall auctions.
Restaurant gift cards continue to be our most successful category and I know everyone dines out so what a great place to start asking. Auction event guests tell us they want to bid on experiences more than on “stuff”. Here are some things we’d love to offer to this year’s attendees.
- Horseback riding
- Vikings tickets
- Backstage or back of the house peeks at theaters and museums
- Vacation stays or unique trips like guided fly fishing or canoeing
- Boating time share
- Personalized in-home theme parties like a Margarita Happy Hour on the Lake
- Home renovation professional services- painters /landscapers /contractors
- Concert tickets
- PETS PETS PETS
Find auction resources for further inspiration (updating soon). Keep in mind if you are a part of a book club or any other organization, put together a great theme basket so you don’t have to do all the work.
If YOU don’t ask for a donation, it will never get donated. Remember RIS needs the proceeds from the auction to continue to further the mission and we need YOU to help us make the auction a success.
