Funding Sarcoma Cancer Research

Natalie Wolf

A major component of Rein in Sarcoma’s mission is to fund research directed toward developing new treatments and finding cures for sarcoma cancers. Since our inception in 2001 RIS has funded over $1.8 million to sarcoma research projects, primarily at the University of Minnesota. This in turn has leveraged over $7 million in public and private funding to date.

Each summer RIS circulates a Request for Proposal for sarcoma research projects across the University. Proposals submitted are reviewed and critiqued by an impartial outside review panel and their recommendations come to the Rein in Sarcoma Board for final action normally in January of the following year.
