Our 15th annual "Party in the Park" will be a magical evening of great music, entertainment and family fun. Rein in Sarcoma 2015 will feature unlimited carousel rides, continuous entertainment, a large and unique Silent Auction and children’s activities. Rein in Sarcoma not only raises funds to benefit sarcoma cancers research and physician education, but it is also intended to provide hope and relief for patients and their families from the isolation of these rare and dangerous cancers.

Just prior to main event, RIS and D'Amico Catering will host a free picnic for sarcoma patients, survivors, loved ones and for those who have lost a loved one to sarcoma. We are excited to introduce D'Amico Catering as our Picnic and Food sponsor who will be preparing an amazing picnic meal for all of us! Advanced registration is required.

Kicking off the Party is a special encore performance of Campfire Blues by five time sarcoma survivor Mark Wehner. Roxxy Hall Band - VOTED BEST LOCAL FEMALE MUSICIANS IN MINNESOTA BY CBS
The spirited and fun-loving Roxxy Hall Band has been around since 1992. Roxxy Hall and her all-women band have picked up nominations from Minnesota Music Academy for best songwriter, best new band and video production. Come see solid music performers Roxxy Hall on bass and vocals, Jan Boyer on guitar and vocals, Jennifer Evans-Hall on keyboard and vocals, Lee O on drums and Leslee Mckee on lead and backup vocals and harmonica. They play at the Minnesota Music Cafe the first Saturday of every month.

DIRTY SHORTS BRASS BAND will give us a taste of New Orleans Dixieland. Dirty Shorts is a Minnesota original. They are a six piece, New Orleans style brass band, playing everything from rock n' roll to swing. People can't help but get up and dance, march, or do whatever the music moves them to do. Kersten Rodau has appeared with the MN Orchestra in Carousel, Springtime in Paris, Bernstein’s Mass and Grieg’s Peer Gyn as well as Ordway’s 2014 production of A Christmas Story, the Musical. She has also performed with area companies including the Guthrie Theater, Park Square Theater, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, Jungle Theater, Skylark Opera and Bloomington Civic Theatre, in productions such as Pirates of Penzance, Sweeney Todd, Ragtime, Les Misérables, The Sound of Music, Urinetown, Funny Girl and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. She was also recognized at the 2014 Ivey Awards for Overall Excellence.

A great favorite and long time supporter of RIS, Ross Sutter returns to our Family Stage to provide the finest entertainment around. Ross is best known as a singer of Scandinavian, Scottish, and Irish songs, and for his wide repertoire of American traditional and popular songs. You may register for a luminary to honor a sarcoma patient or survivor, or in memory of a sarcoma patient. You have the opportunity to create a luminary at the picnic and at the Conservatory until 8:30 that will be displayed and lit with a candle to honor or in memory of someone. The names of the luminary dedications will be read during this closing ceremony.
