Tell your story

We invite you to tell us your
sarcoma story, as a patient,
survivor, or as someone who has lost
a loved one to sarcoma.

Type of Sarcoma: Leiomyosarcoma
Date of Diagnosis: 2015
Location:

Heidi Minor loved history, international travel, her four children, five grandchildren, and her husband, Pat. Over thirty years ago, Heidi and Pat met at the local dance hall, Polovtizkis’, on Highway 65 in Spring Lake Park, MN. She called him back a year later and the first date became a long conversation in her kitchen covering a multitude of topics, late into the night. Soon after, they decided to marry.

The kids, then ages two, four, six and eight were family. It was a second marriage for both. They supported each other, cared for one another, and did everything together. She worked her way up through banking first at Norwest, mergers with Prudential, Wells Fargo and then into a VP role in the mortgage department. They raised their kids, enjoyed the rises and falls of life, supported in the bad, celebrated the good, loved deeply, raised each other up, and worked together – even through a terrible journey of leiomyosarcoma.

Heidi had multiple delays in diagnosing her condition and she was given little hope or encouragement from medical professionals, and a surgeon inexperienced with sarcoma.

Pat and family have established the Heidi Minor Named Fund. Together, we work to help other patients, families, and focus on celebrating her life.
