It was a warm and beautiful February afternoon, both inside and outside, for the 2024 Winter Gathering: Make it Happen. We came together as a community to connect with old and new friends and share wishes and dreams for the future.
Attendees were lead by Karie Amstutz, LMFT, ATR, through a personal vision board activity and encouraged to share ideas on ways to push Rein in Sarcoma (RIS) forward. Karie is a marriage and family therapist, art therapist, and artist and believes in the healing that creativity brings to wounded hearts and minds and that all have an inner creative muscle. She encouraged the group to turn difficulties into growth opportunities, explore new coping skills, deepen resilience, and strengthen self-confidence.
RIS Executive Director Lachelle Semanko shared a summary of RIS successes from 2023 and gave a peek into upcoming projects and events for 2024. Board member, Jason Patalonis with Fete Exceptionelle, shared his time and talent and catered the event.
