The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is a luxury hotel, casino, and spa resort located in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The property was opened on July 3, 2003, by MGM Resorts International (formerly known as MGM MIRAGE) and Boyd Gaming casinoborgata.ca Corporation. It has since become one of the largest hotels in New Jersey and one of the most popular tourist destinations along the East Coast.
History
Borgata was originally conceived as a joint venture between Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, LLC, which is owned by Boyd Gaming, and MGM Mirage (now known as MGM Resorts International). The property’s design and architecture were inspired by New York City’s SoHo neighborhood. Borgata is situated on 17 acres of land in the Marina District of Atlantic City.
The hotel features a contemporary Art Deco design with sleek lines, rich textures, and vibrant colors. The interior designers incorporated elements that evoke the spirit of classic Hollywood glamour while incorporating modern amenities and technology. The exterior architecture blends seamlessly into its surroundings, creating an urban oasis within the bustling resort city.
