RIS Participates in American Society of Clinical Oncology and CancerCon Conferences

In June, Rein in Sarcoma had the opportunity to participate as an exhibitor at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and CancerCon. ASCO was held in Chicago and had over 32,000 oncology medical professionals in attendance. RIS was an ASCO-sponsored patient advocacy exhibitor and was able to engage with oncology researchers, sarcoma/cancer centers, pharmaceutical representatives and other advocacy organizations.

CancerCon, affiliated with Stupid Cancer, was held in Minneapolis. Stupid Cancer’s mission is to empower everyone affected by adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer by ending isolation and building community. Our volunteers were able to raise awareness and engage with medical professionals and sarcoma survivors.

At both conferences, the Sarcoma Patient Guidebook was distributed, as well as other RIS resources. The resources were very well received! Special thank you to volunteers Elsa Keeler, MD, Jo DeBruycker, PhD, Jaclyn Robles, PA-S, Ron Kurpiers, Mike Schurhamer and Yatharth Sharma.
